GENERAL PURPOSE

Performs advanced breakdown and preventive maintenance (PM) that includes inspection, repair, and revision of complex/sophisticated plant machinery/mechanisms, manufacturing and/or facilities related equipment. Enhances/improves machine utilization to insure process repeatability, uptime and reduce change over and set-up times. Performs breakdown maintenance by troubleshooting, repairing and documenting. Partners with management, engineering and vendors regarding new machinery/equipment selection, specifications, set-up and operator training. May act in a lead capacity and provide direction to other employees.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Conducts advanced breakdown and preventive maintenance (PM), including inspection, repair, and modification of complex plant machinery, manufacturing equipment, and facilities-related systems.
Enhances machine utilization to ensure process repeatability, uptime, and reduced changeover and setup times.
Troubleshoots, repairs, and documents breakdown maintenance activities.
Partners with management, engineering, and vendors on new machinery/equipment selection, setup, specifications, and operator training.
Works with internal teams to ensure efficient machine changeovers, setups, and project completion.
Adheres to corporate and departmental safety guidelines.
Supports environmental initiatives.
Assists in designing, assembling, or fabricating equipment and special machines.
Contributes to plant layouts to facilitate machinery relocation and installation.
Installs, alters, and rebuilds equipment to meet operational needs.
Designs and builds control systems starting from conceptualization.
Troubleshoots and repairs machine control systems, power circuits, relay logic systems, PLC systems, and facilities-related systems.
Documents repairs, setups, maintenance, and PM activities to ensure equipment reliability and quality control.
Recommends and implements system/equipment modifications and suggests spare parts for inventory to maintain reliability.
Implements machine enhancements based on operational requirements.

Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience

High school diploma or equivalent education required. Minimum of three to five years of electrician experience.

Must have a valid driver's license.

Must obtain a MillerKnoll Inc. forklift and aerial platform operator's license. Other equipment licensing as required by location or assignment.

Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated technical aptitude, and initiative.

Ability to interpret schematic drawings, diagrams and printed instructions to trouble shoot and resolve mechanical/electrical problems.

Must be able to communicate (verbal and written) with all levels of the organization.

Computer literacy necessary.

Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
