Job Description
Presbyterian is seeking a Diabetes Educator to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients between 0- 18 years in an Outpatient Clinic . The Diabetes Educator is responsible for teaching and learning all about type 1 and type 2 diabetes and Pediatric Nutrition. This position has the opportunity to grow and develop skills with diabetes technology and working with an interdisciplinary team.
Type of Opportunity: Full Time (1.0 FTE/40 hours per week)
Work Schedule: Monday Friday 8-hour days

- Develops, plans, and implements a multicultural diabetes skills education program.
- Educates, assesses, and promotes self-care and wellness in the diabetic population.*Coordinates care with Endocrinologists & local physicians and markets program to physicians.
- Advertises program and provides education in all aspects of diabetes.
- Collaborates with other community resources and programs
- Other duties as required
- Bachelors degree in nutrition and clinical dietetics (NM Dietetics RD license required).
- Certified Diabetes Educator Certification required.
- Three to five years experience in nutrition, preferably in a community or clinic setting, and diabetes education experience
- Registered Dietitian
- Certified Diabetes Educator
- BLS Certification required at time of hire.
