SUMMARY:

Performs a wide range of facility maintenance services. Performs comprehensive mid-level technical maintenance, trouble shooting and repair of facilities and refrigeration equipment. Responsible for the food safety, sanitation, quality, and security of the products produced.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

  • As appropriate, contacts and coordinates external service agencies to schedule refrigeration repair work and ensure timely and effective work order completion.
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with all applicable standards, laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Perform inspections and preventative maintenance.
  • Utilize Process Safety Management (PSM) procedures and implement any procedures required by PSM.
  • Service and repair refrigeration systems (both Ammonia and Freon)
  • Keep all ammonia safety equipment up to date.
  • Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with air compressors and associated control systems.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations related to ammonia refrigeration.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and maintenance of industrial ammonia systems.
  • Posses Reta Course 1 and 2 certifications.
  • Ensure the company policy is always followed.
  • Reports maintenance delays to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Interact with employees, customers, and guests in a professional manner at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Report any incident and or accidents immediately.
  • Assist in the repack production area for any type of repairs required to continue line production.
  • Other job duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience
  • At least 2-5 years of industrial maintenance
  • Ammonia Refrigeration experience
  • Excellent industrial control skills and trouble-shooting abilities
  • Knowledge of controls and electric (high and low voltage)
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must make use of all extremities.
  • Must be able to push and pull.
  • Must be able to reach above the shoulders.
  • Must be able to see.
  • Must be able to identify colors.
  • Must be able to hear.
  • Must be able to lift and carry at least 50lbs. +/- (varies)
  • Must be able to bend and kneel repeatedly.
  • Must be able to climb stairs.
  • Must be able to work in temperatures below 0 degrees to normal daily temperatures.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Cold and damp.
  • Constant noise.
  • Working with and/or around machines with moving parts and objects.
  • Wear gloves as required.
  • Machine vibrations.
  • Working closely with others.
  • Longer or irregular work hours.
