The Data Entry Pharmacy Technician position blends pharmaceutical and organizational responsibilities, and requires a professional who is highly proficient in both areas. Work closely with the Pharmacist to fill prescriptions and ensure an efficient pharmacy environment.

Job Specifics and Requirements:

Area: Jeffersonville, IN
Licensure Requirements: Must have open, active, and in good standing IN State Pharmacy Technician License
Education: H.S. Diploma
Years of Experience: 6 months+
Setting: Data Entry
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 Hour Shifts
Pay: $20.50+ 
Background/ Drug Requirements: Must be willing to submit to a background check, health and drug screen.
 

Data Entry Pharmacy Technician

Job Responsibilities:

• Assists Pharmacist in updating patient profiles and entering prescription information into the pharmacy computer to the extent
• allowable by State law. Preserves patient confidentiality.
• Assists customers by answering phones, emails, providing price quotes, phoning/faxing prescribers for prescription
• information. Provides prompt and courteous customer service.
• Prepares third-party insurance claims, processes invoices, and makes accounting entries using computerized system.
• Cleans and organizes department by sweeping, mopping, spraying, wiping, dusting and filing. Empties trash and shredders.
• Translate prescriptions filled out by the prescriber and enter information in the patient’s profile, in accordance with state regulations.
• Perform quality assurance, prescriber and patient outreach, and adverse event reporting.
• Resolve all data entry related exceptions.
• Identify and communicate issues to senior level staff as appropriate.
• Enter data into computer, and transcribe notes.
• Assist the Pharmacy Technician II and Pharmacy Technician I in facilitating the data entry process.
• Utilize pharmacy-directed applications and information systems for reporting and inquiry.
• Follow detailed guidelines, instructions and procedures given by management and staff.
• Work well in a fast paced, detail-oriented environment.
