As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing support to our healthcare providers. Your responsibilities will include greeting and rooming patients, following directions of a physician or advanced nurse practitioner in order to deliver high-quiality patient care.
In this role, you will also be responsible for performing basic clerical duties such as answering phones, maintaining patient records, and filing documents. You will manage materials by ordering and stocking supplies, ensuring that the environment remains clean and orderly. Documentation is a key aspect of your responsibilities, as you may be required to document the provider's encounters with patients, including listing diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions as indicated by the provider.
You will also transcribe patient orders for laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established protocols.
This position offers a structured schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday - Friday. As part of a dedicated team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the well-being of patients while working in a collaborative environment that values professional development and community engagement.
Responsibilites:
• Prepare the patient for medical examination (taking blood presure, temperature, weight and hight).
• Prepare EMR chart for providers before patients appointments.
• Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information on patients' charts.
• Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients.
• Perform basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
• Assist with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
• Document the provider's encounter with patients, listing all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions, as indicated by the provider.
• Transcribe patient orders including, but not limited to, laboratory tests, radiology tests and medications.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1-2 years of full-time experience as a Certified Medical Assistant in a hosipital, doctor's office or ambulatory care clinic is requiered.
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) requiered.
- Current BLS from the American Heart Association.
- Current National Medical Assistant Certification.
- Effective interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in the use of applicable computer software.
- Problem solving skills.
- Ability to work indpendently and as a member of team.
- Experience in administering medications and/or have completed medication administration education.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23 - $25 per hour
