About the Veterinary Technician Emergency Coordinator Role

We are looking to add to our growing hospital and are in search of a Veterinary Technician with at least three years of experience in veterinary medicine to work as our Emergency Coordinator.

Schedule & Compensation

Schedule: 12 pm-10 pm Sun-Weds, or 6 am-4pm Sun-Weds

Compensation: From $30/hr *this includes a shift differential

Sign on bonus: $5,000

What Youll Do

• Responsible for maintaining the flow of tasks and manage the treatment room needs
• Assignment of nurses to patients, shift roles, and other tasks as they present
• Attend, update and pass on patient rounds
• Perform various treatments on an in-house and outpatient basis
• Position and capture of radiographs
• Investigate and deescalate conflict among team members and clients in the absence of management
• Ensure protocols and policies are followed by team members
• Receive call outs/lateness phone calls informing the appropriate manager of occurrences, and determine the need for on-call team member usage

• Three plus years of experience in Emergency Veterinary Medicine
• Current CVT/LVT/RVT preferred or educational equivalent
• Broad knowledge of basic small animal medicine (pharmacology, proper restraint/handling, venipuncture, laboratory testing)
• Thorough understanding and knowledge of medical terminology, medications, and disease processes
• Attention to detail and a calm demeanor
• Ability to work in a fast paced, environment
• Proficient computer skills
• Ability to communicate with clients, and team members (verbally and written)
