Test Techician

Job Summary:  Performs leakage test jobs, interpretation and use of ATP.  Set up XY recorders, graphs, the use of graduated cylinders, lock wire methods, potting, the use of torque wrenches, trim grinders, dial indicators, OD laps and compound for wipe lapping of trimmed spools. Operator will be able to differentiate between Skydrol, Red oil and its use with the appropriate o’rings. Measure O-rings to assure the appropriate size ring is used.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Test leakage jobs per ATP. 
• The use of XY recorder and the interpretation of Graphs;
• The use of graduated cylinders and interpretation of values;
• Lock wire Methods;
• The use of potting materials and equipment;
• The use and conversion of torque wrenches inch lbs to ft. lbs and vice versa;
• The use of dial indicators;
• The use of Trim Grinders;
• The use of OD laps and the appropriate compound to wipe lap burrs;
• Plumb test fixtures per schematics or Blue Print specs;
• The use and care of pressure gages;
• Understand the difference between Skydrol and Red oil and avoiding cross contamination of each;
• The difference between Buna and Ethylene Propylene Elastomers (O ‘ring Material compatibility).

Skills and Education Requirements: 

• Mechanical experience, Basic computer skills, Able to read technical publications

Working Conditions/Environment: Shop environment.

Needed Attributes: Ability to communicate effectively both verbally an in writing.  Proficiency in basic mathematics.  Strong organizational abilities and management of changing workflow.

Temperament: Professional demeanor and flexibility to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.  Ability to perform a variety of tasks and changing assignments on short notice.
