Dental Assistant

We are hiring a dental assistant for our busy general dental practice.  We work Monday through Thursday.  You will help with preparing patients, sterilizing instruments, setting up and maintaining treatment rooms and monitoring and maintaining inventory of supplies. A pleasant and caring attitude with patients is important .  Familiarity with Dentrix is a plus.

Dental Assistant Responsibilities:

• Preparing patients for examination and treatment.
• Assisting at the chair with the doctor.
• Helping with infection control by sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up instrument trays and preparing materials.
• Recording treatment information in patient records.
• Exposing accurate dental x-rays for dental diagnostics and maintaining  dental x-ray equipment.
• Collecting and recording medical and dental histories.
• Providing postoperative instructions as directed by the dentist.
• Caring for dental equipment.
• Ordering dental supplies and maintaining inventory.
• Laboratory functions where experienced.

Dental Assistant Requirements:

• Certification or associate degree in an accredited dental assisting program.  Experience in the workplace is a plus.
• Dental x-ray certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience using computers for a variety of tasks. (We use Dentrix)
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional appearance and attitude.
