Sayre offers two 1st shift options: 4-10 hour days, Monday-Thursday, 6AM-4:30PM OR 5-8 hour days, Monday-Friday, 7AM-3:30PM.
JOB TITLE: Embroidery Machine Operator
DEPARTMENT: Embroidery Department
REPORTS TO: Embroidery Department Manager
SUMMARY: Embroidery machine operator is responsible for operating multi-head embroidery machines to embroider names, initials, or decorative designs on garments, material, or uniform accessories.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ability to draw thread through guides, tensions, and needles and adjusts tensions, threads, and bobbins according to fabric type.
• Ability to hoop and center material to prepare for processing on embroidery machine.
• Ability to observe embroidery sewing operations to detect defects in stitching that indicate machine malfunction and notify supervisor of malfunction.
• Ability to inspect garments for defects or damage, repair defective embroidery or fills in blanks left by embroidery machine.
• Must be dependable and self-motivated with a positive attitude
• Ability to work independently with little supervision and communicate well with manager and team leaders.
• Ability to maintain speed and efficiency and be fully committed to excellent customer service.
• Ability to maintain department production demand numbers.
• Ability to accurately count and follow written directions
• Pay attention to the quality of both the starting product and the finished product
• Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and have discernment for colors and detail.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• General Computer skills preferred but not required
• Manufacturing experience preferred but not required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Continually required to stand and walk (8-10 hours per day and up to 2-4 hours overtime as needed)
• Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
• Continually required to talk and hear and visually see.
• Must be able to lift, move and push up to 30lbs
