About the Role

SelectQuote Insurance Services is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team. In this position you will work with a team of accountants to accurately record expenses and create monthly general ledger journal entries in accordance with U.S. GAAP for the monthly close process. You will also support the accounting department in other capacities as needed. This individual should work with high intensity and integrity possess intellectual curiosity and demonstrate teamwork abilities and have a passion for excellence.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform several aspects of the month-end close process by preparing necessary journal entries supporting schedules and balance sheet reconciliations
• Code and enter bills into NetSuite and send through the advanced workflows for approval and payment authorization
• Implement recommendations to improve accounting policies and procedures
• Assist with annual financial audit; prepare audit schedules and answer audit inquiries as requested
• Perform special projects and ad hoc analyses as needed

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting finance or other related fields
• 2 or more years of accounting experience
• Possess an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Working knowledge of NetSuite a plus

Physical Requirements:

• Work is performed indoors with potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to office work. Could periodically travel to other office and operational sites. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
