iHire Team Participates in Hood College PDI Program

Employees from iHire.com recently visited the Hood College campus to volunteer their time and expertise for the institution’s Professional Development Institute (PDI) program. Personnel from a range of departments including resume writing and HR facilitated modules for graduate students covering modern resume writing strategies and interviewing skills. By leading in-depth presentations and working one on one as well as in small groups with the students, iHire’s team shared their knowledge and gave these new grads the proper footing needed to begin searching for employment.

iHire Product Manager Laurie Ballow spearheaded the company’s participation in this event. “I was so pleased that they thought of us and felt it was a great opportunity to get involved with and give back to the community,” she said. “We jumped at the chance to help these new grads and career changers learn how to navigate what can be a very intimidating job market.”

Barbara Haber, PDI Program Director and Executive Coordinator of the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce was equally excited: “Everyone seemed so engaged and eager to offer advice, and I could tell that the students were really trying to absorb all of the suggestions and advice. They were both great sessions, and I’m positive those students walked away feeling as though they had received practical, useful advice.”
