iHire Spotlights Indiana Job Market at 2019 HR Indiana Conference
Exhibiting at booth #625, recruiting technology leader breaks down state’s 374,000+ job opportunities from first half of year

Notable characteristics of Indiana job openings from the first half of 2019 include:
- Top Hiring Industries: Transportation (103,019), Nursing (42,411), and Sales (38,140) had the most job openings, followed by Retail, Hospitality, and Technology.
- Top Career Titles: Career titles in highest demand included CDL Truck Driver (42,589), Sales Representative (26,782), and Registered Nurse/RN (15,657).
- Top Desired Skills and Credentials: Candidate skills and credentials most frequently listed in job ads included management skills (25,054), training and development skills (24,330), and commercial driver’s licenses (21,845).
- Top Hiring Cities: Indianapolis unsurprisingly boasted the most opportunities (74,963), and Fort Wayne (21,082), Evansville (10,456), and South Bend (8,300) followed.
“According to our job and job seeker databases, Indiana ranks 17th in the nation for 2019 job opportunities thus far,” said Jason Hayes, VP Employer Sales and Customer Success, iHire. “However, finding qualified talent to fill the thousands of open positions is easier said than done – a challenge employers are experiencing nationwide.
